GEORGE WHITE RIDERS ON DONINGTON PODIUM
George White\\\'s new association with the Ten Kate Racing family enjoyed immediate success at the Donington Park World Superbike weekend, with two podium results from the races, all of which were broadcast live on television by Eurosport.
Holland\\\'s Barry Veneman, from the newly renamed George White Ten Kate Racing team, finished seventh in the ninth round World Supersport championship race. After a difficult start, the 32-year-old ended lap one in 13th place but picked off a number of riders, including reigning world champion Andrew Pitt, to take nine championship points in only his second outing on the CBR600RR.
\\\"It was a fun race,\\\" said Veneman afterwards, \\\"but maybe I was a little too gentle at the start. The full tank of fuel made it tricky under braking but, later in the race, the weight reduced and the bike began to handle a lot better. I had a good battle with Eugene Laverty and had to remind him that I\\\'ve been here for a while!
\\\"The first race on the bike in Misano last weekend, was a bit of a disappointment,\\\" he added. \\\"I have raced Suzukis for as long as I can remember and everyone thought that being on a Ten Kate bike would make it easy. But the level is very high in this championship this season. I am more relaxed now, however, and looking forward to the next outing at Brno.\\\"
George White is also supporting the Ten Kate Junior team\\\'s Maxime Berger in the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, and the Frenchman - who celebrated his 20th birthday on Saturday - put in a stunning performance yesterday at Donington to take the final podium position, finishing third after starting from 21st place on the grid!
And, in the final race of the day, Britain\\\'s Gino Rea, rode a spectacular race to take second place in the Superstock 600 European championship encounter on his George White-supported CBR600RR. The 19-year-old from Epsom now sits just four points of the championship lead with five races remaining.
